Which Algebra Tutor Are You Looking For?

At Tutorzilla, we have math tutors for all levels of algebra.  Depending on where you are in your algebra studies, you can choose to work with a Pre Algebra Tutor, Algebra 1 Tutor or an Algebra 2 Tutor.

Getting Connected to Your Algebra Tutor

You've picked the level of math you want to focus on, and you know what kind of tutor you need.  So how do you get connected to them?  It's as easy as 1-2-3.  First, you will need to create an account, on our sign up page.  We respect your privacy, and we only need minimal personal information to create your account: your email address, your first name, your parent's first name, and a phone number to walk you through a quick tech set-up.  Ok, you have a Tutorzilla account, and your own account page, which you should be on after you submit your information. Now onto why you're really here, to  get some great algebra tutoring, right?  You just need to click on the "Schedule Session" link and you will then land on the Scheduler page.  In order to schedule a session, you will need to select a subject area, course area, topic, instructions for your tutor, upload your homework if necessary, and select a date and time to meet your tutor online.  Now we will ask you to confirm that you have picked the right date, time and tutoring subject, and that's all there is to it!

What to Expect Once You Have a Scheduled Session

So you have your tutoring session scheduled, what happens when it's time to connect to them online?  Well, first check your email inbox.  Tutorzilla sends an email reminder for every tutoring session, and we will provide you with a link to the Webex session you will be using with your tutor.  What is Webex you ask?  Webex is the online tool we use to provide the whiteboard technology, so that you and your algebra tutor can work through problems together on a virtual whiteboard.  The first time you sign on with your tutor, they will instruct you on how to use the Webex tools to write on the whiteboard and chat.  Don't worry, it's easy.  If you have any technological questions, your algebra tutor can help you troubleshoot them and get online with them.  We encourage you to get a headset with a microphone for your online tutoring, so that you can speak and listen to your algebra tutor while you watch them demonstrate problems on the whiteboard.

Ending Your Online Tutoring Session

Toward the end of the session with your algebra tutor, they will ask if you have any questions, and they will have you review the material you have learned.  Why do this?  Because it helps to reinforce your new knowledge, and to make sure you completely understand the material.  Your algebra tutor will also tell you how to book another session, and we will request that you fill out a very quick survey about your experience with your online tutor.  Tutorzilla tutors get grades too!  Our tutors are graded on your satisfaction with their teaching, on their performance, and their popularity with other online students.  If you really liked your learnubg experience with your algebra tutor, you can request to work with the same tutor in your next session.

Let's get started then!  You can easily connect with a great algebra tutor with Tutorzilla, and your report card can only get better!
