A Trigonometry Tutor is Closer than you Think

So how close is that Tutorzilla Trigonometry Tutor?  How about just a computer and an internet connection away?  Now that is pretty close.  And on top of that, your first Trigonometry session is FREE!  We want to give you peace of mind when we tell you that for your first free session, No Credit Card is Required.  We believe so completely in our Trigonometry tutoring that the first session is absolutely free, so you can see for yourself the difference we can make.  Follow these steps to get started on getting a better grade in Trig:

Step 1:

Start an account:  This is a very simple and uncomplicated step, where you list some basic information so you can log back into our website as a registered user.  Once you're registered,  you have full access to all of our Tutoring Services.  You can start your account by clicking HERE.

Step 2:

Booking your Trigonometry Session:  The way you book your session is by locating the Scheduler, which is on your registered user Account page.  From there you can select the date and time that you want your session.  The nice thing about booking your session is that it's like booking an airline ticket: You now have a reservation, only this is one that will help you improve your grade!

Step 3:

Connecting with your Trigonometry Tutor online:  Now your session is all set, you can find it under the session manager.  On the day of your session just click the start session button, you will be brought to an online whiteboard and your tutor!

As simple as 1,2,3 and you are done.  Tutorzilla Trigonometry tutors are on call 24/7 for your convenience, so now is the time to take that first step toward a better grade!

Trig Concept Overview

Trigonometry was probably invented for use in astronomy.  Like geometry, the origins of trigonometry can be traced to the civilizations of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley, more than 4000 years ago.  Our Trigonometry Tutoring can include the study of triangles, particularly triangles in a plane where one angle of the triangle is 90 degrees.  These 90 degree triangles are also called right angled triangles.  Your Trig tutoring may also address the relationships between the sides and the angles of triangles as well as the trigonometric functions: sine, cosine, tangent, cosine, cosecant, and cotangent and the calculations using these.

The Study of Triangles

You might be asking yourself, how exciting can this be?  A triangle is a triangle is a triangle, right?  No!  There are different kinds of triangles, and this is what trig is all about.  You can have triangles of all different shapes and sizes, but all you need is one out of three angles to equal 90 degrees for a right triangle.  There are also names for each side of a triangle, and no, they aren't "Huey", "Dewey", and "Louie"!

Imagine that we are trying to find one angle inside a triangle.  First, you have the "hypotenuse", which is the longest side of the triangle or the side opposite the right angle.  The "opposite side" is the side opposite to the angle we are trying to find.  The "adjacent side" is the side that is in contact with or touching the angle we are trying to find.  Trigonometry is another very visual section of mathematics, and by using an online whiteboard, your trig tutor can help illustrate these concepts to you.

Trigonometric Functions

We assume that all triangles are in the Euclidean plane so that the inside angles of each triangle add up to 180 degrees; so a right triangle with two non-right angles are between 0 and 90 degrees.  These rules only apply to trig functions for angles in this range.  If they are not in this range, we use the unit circle.  If it sounds as though we're speaking another language, it's because we are!  Trigonometry and mathematics in general are almost like learning another language, so an online Trig tutor may be all the help you need to get out of feeling lost in translation to, "Isn't that the student who's really good at this stuff?"

You will also learn about the six trig functions: sine, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant, and cotangent.  A tutor can also walk you through slope definitions and unit circle definitions, as well as the process for applying the functions for calculations.

The Laws & Periodic Functions

You think laws are just to prevent people from running stop signs and protecting citizens from the bad guy?  Think again!  Mathematics is chalk full of laws, and trig is no exception.  But don't worry, these laws make figuring it all out much simpler than if we didn't have them.  If you're stuck on the law of sines, law of cosines, or law of tangents, we have homework tutors for you to help sort it out and know what to do with them.

Don't be fooled: trigonometry isn't just there to look pretty on paper.  It actually has some real world relevance.  Trig functions are also important in physics, the science dedicated to understanding the world around us.  For example, the sine and the cosine functions are used to describe the motion of natural phenomena, such as the movement of a mass attached to a spring or the motion of a mass hanging by a string like a pendulum.

Ever wonder how they figured out what sound and light waves look like and how they work?  Trigonometric functions also prove to be useful in the modeling of general periodic functions, such as the characteristic wave patterns used to illustrate sound and light in physics.  If you want to understand all these fun physics experiments, you've got to have a sound foundation in trigonometry, and we're here to help!  When you begin using online tutoring with us, we have expert certified tutors who can help you get the concepts and techniques for trigonometry mastered.

Once you've got trig down, you can expand your mind and progress to the next level or get help from an Online Pre-Calculus Tutor.
